JEDIS, WOOKIEES & JAWAS, OH MY!:
The power of the Force combines with the magic of Disney in
May and June 2010

JEDIS, WOOKIEES & JAWAS, OH MY!: A stormtrooper stands watch at Disney's Hollywood Studios as a statue in the shape of a very familiar mouse looks over him. The power of the Force and the magic of Disney combine in Star Wars Weekends. Walt Disney World guests of all ages are attracted to the annual sci-fi fan-fest – to be held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 21-June 13, 2010. Meet-and-greets, Star Wars parades, autograph sessions, Jedi Training Academy and more are included as part of regular Disney’s Hollywood Studios admission. Walt Disney World Resort is in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Mark Ashman, photographer)

Top 5 Must See, Must Do at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

Picture
1. TOY STORY MIDWAY MANIA
My favorite ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios is this 4D midway style game playin' adventure where you are competing for a virtual prize at the end of the ride. I am a very competitive person so this ride is right up my alley and is fun for the whole family too!
I recommend getting to the parks at least 20 minutes before they open, enjoy the fun opening show they have and then head straight to Toy Story Mania.  Grab a fastpass first and then ride standby. Now you can enjoy this ride twice in one day.  Such a great tip as fastpasses for this ride can and do run out by mid-afternoon.

2. ROCK 'N' ROLLER COASTER STARRING AEROSMITH
This high energy "road trip" coaster starring Aerosmith has wild twists, turns, and loops.  Hang on-we're going for a ride through the back streets of tinseltown!  Grab a fastpass for this ride as well if you want to ride it twice or use the single rider line with shorter queues.  Disney World has very few rides that offer the single rider option so take advantage of it here!

3. 50's PRIME TIME CAFE
This is such a fun restaurant and one of my favorite meals at Disney. They serve classic American comfort food (fried chicken, meatloaf, pot roast, etc.) in a TV-themed setting.  The waiters and waitresses treat you like family and really add to the "flavor" of this restaurant.  The portions here are large too and can be easily split plus you'll want to save room for their yummy desserts like Dad's Brownie Sundae that is topped with caramel corn! Ask for a "tv table" to watch clips from popular 50's sitcoms like "Father Knows Best" and of course the original "Mickey Mouse Club".  Reservations are recommended and can be made 180 days in advance.

4. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST-LIVE ON STAGE
Disney does such a phenomenal job with this live Broadway style show.  This 30 minute live show is offered several times each day so check your times guide and make sure you fit it in your schedule.

Last but certainly not least...
5. FANTASMIC!
This 25 minute nightime spectacular show stars Mickey Mouse and uses lasers, lights, dancing fountains, special effects and characters galore.  This evening show does not show every night so make sure and check with us for the best itinerary to fit Fantasmic! into your vacation!  A great option to view Fantasmic without dealing with the crowds is to reserve The Fantasmic Dinner Package. This package offers 3 tier packages with dinner before the show and reserved seating during the show!  Reservations for this package are requried and can be made 180 days in advance.

Dove Award-winning NEEDTOBREATHE will raise the curtain on Walt Disney World Night of Joy 2009, playing a 7 p.m. show on Sept. 11 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as the first of 19 Christian music acts performing during the two-night event (Sept. 11-12).  Night of Joy concerts take place after regular park closing and require a separate ticket which provides admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. on event days.

The lineup for this 27th edition of Night of Joy is musically diverse, with multi-platinum Christian rock band P.O.D. making its 2009 concert debut as part of the Sept. 11 show schedule, and before Grammy Award-winning alternative contemporary Christian band Jars of Clay brings down the curtain with a late-night show on Sept. 12, the studios’ stages also will have been alive with MercyMe, newsboys, Skillet, Flyleaf, Chris Tomlin, Kutless, Grits, Leeland, Superchick, Mandisa, Family Force 6, Francesca, Battisteli, Revive, Josh Wilson, Above the Golden State and Abandon.

Concerts are at four stage locations throughout Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park.  The schedule also includes star conversations with select performers – plus the opportunity for guests to experience many popular Disney’s Hollywood Studios attractions.  Here’s how they’ll line up (talent, show times and locations are subject to change without notice):
