Well friends its now time to start planning for one of my favorite times of year at Walt Disney World-- Christmas season!

During the holidays each of the four major parks has some type of amazing holiday celebration and my personal favorite is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party inside the Magic Kingdom.

Held select nights in November and December, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers cheer and enchantment for all ages and interests.

During the event you can see a special holiday lighting of Cinderella's Castle, watch Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas Parade, see a special holiday version of the Wishes firework show, get down at the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas and much, much more!

And here are a few tips for your visit to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party:
  • This is a Hard Ticketed event, meaning your regular park ticket won't get you in.  You will need to purchase a special ticket-- but book soon if you are looking for some of the busier nights.
  • Believe it or not, Florida can get a bit chilling in November and December, so be sure to pack a jacket or sweater and take advantage of the hot chocolate included in the event!
  • The event begins at 7pm, but your ticket can get you in as early as 4pm.  Get there right at 4, enjoy a few rides and then grab a quick bite to eat before the party begins.  I highly recommend Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland.
  • As the sun goes down the castle lights up... Its an amazing sight to see so grab a seat near the partner statue for a great view.
  • Wish you could experience snow? Well you will! Check it out on Main Street at various times throughout the evening.  Its an amazing sight to see!

One of our favorite parts of Walt Disney World's ongoing enhancements, such as MyMagic+, is the interactive experiences being put into the parks.  One of our favorite of these enhancements is the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom interactive adventure.

Similar to the Sorcerers concept, an interactive pirate quest will debut at Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World this spring. In A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas, you will use a pirate map and magic talisman to complete five different pirate raids throughout Adventureland. The goal is to help locate different Treasures of the Seven Seas and fight off pirate enemies like the Royal Navy and Captain Barbossa, among others. If you help Captain Jack succeed in all the missions, they’ll be welcomed as part of his new crew. If not, they’ll face the wrath of the cruel sea – alone.

A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas is just one of the many amazing experiences you can enjoy as part of a Walt Disney World vacation.

Its been an interesting few weeks for lovers of the Walt Disney World Resort to say the least.  First, we have the official grand opening of the New Fantasyland coming up tomorrow.  This is an absolutely AMAZING addition to the Magic Kingdom, so be sure to check it out.

Then we begin to hear about mysterious sightings around the New Fantasyland-- to include flying dragons!!!  Are these dragons the latest residents of the New Fantasyland?  Are they perhaps precursors to the forthcoming Avatarland???  Who knows!

And now, other well read Disney sights are claiming tomorrow we will hear about Hollywood Studios getting its own version of Cars Land, which recently opened at Disney's California Adventure.

One thing is for sure-- the next 24 hours are going to answer a lot of questions for fans of the Walt Disney World Resort.  Keep your eyes here for answers... And be sure to follow our agent-on-the-ground Heidi on Twitter and Facebook for the latest juicy details!!!

One of my favorite things about a Disney trip is the opportunity to create memories at nearly every corner.  During our family's latest trip we got to do just that by visiting the Harmony Barbershop in the Magic Kingdom.

Nestled away in the corner of Town Square between the Emporium and the Fire Department is the Harmony Barbershop-- a quaint little hair cuttery open year round for you to visit.  The location usually has two to three barbers working at any given time and every day around lunch time you might be lucky enough to spot a Barber Shop Quartet, the Dapper Dan's, serenading the customers.

What really makes this place special is the opportunity to have your child experience their very first hair cut right in the Magic Kingdom-- and that's exactly what we did with our son when he was 10-months old!

Upon walking into the Harmony Barbershop the staff was very excited for Jacob's experience and ready to help our family create memories to last a lifetime.  The barber, obviously experience with little guys, covered him in Mickey Mouse stickers, which kept him occupied and happy through out the experience.  As she took of the first few pieces of hair she made sure to wrap up the locks and place them in a ziploc bag so we could save them for Jacob.  After that she worked her magic-- and somehow got my energetic little boy to sit still the whole time!

At the completion of the first hair cut Jacob was awarded a certificate signed by his barber and a set of Mickey Ears that say "My 1st Haircut" on the back.  Man does he love those ears!

In total the experience cost $18-- not a bad price when a set of ears alone is more than $10!  And the Cast Members of Harmony Barbershop made the experience wonderful for Jacob and our entire family!  I highly recommend this experience.

One of the questions often asked by clients is where are places I can get the most out of my dining plan during my Disney World vacation?  Well one of our favorites is Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom.

Cosmic Rays has a wonderful classic sci-fi feel to it as you walk in the door.  The decor and vibe truly fits in with the overall Tomorrowland feel.  Down in the seating area you even have live audio-animatronic entertainment offered by Sonny Eclipse.

But the best part is hands down the food!

This Quick-Service option is actually three great dining options all wrapped into one.  When you walk in you have to choose one of three bays to order from-- chicken, burgers and sandwiches.  Each bay offers different options, here are a few samples:

  • Bay 1: You can get a 1/2 rotisserie chicken (my favorite), ribs or both in a combo platter
  • Bay 2: The highlight item here is a 1/3 pound guacamole angus bacon cheeseburger
  • Bay 3: Cheese steak, BBQ pork, turkey wrap... Yes Please!!!!
Cosmic Rays is a must do for my family everytime we go to Disney World and I highly recommend to you-- especially if you're looking for opportunities to make the most of your Dining Plan at Disney World.
