Is Free Dining really free? Let’s examine some scenarios because you have to weigh the odds and pricing. Here at White Glove Destinations, we have been saving clients money for years by applying Disney discounts to our client’s reservation. Let’s dive into Free Dining and why it may not always be the best.
Let's say you have a 5-night stay at a Disney World Resort with a 4-day base ticket for 4 people ages 10 & up. To receive Free Dining, Disney would require that you add in the Park Hopper Option for each person on the reservation. For a family of four, this will cost you an additional $319.52 to add to your package.
Also, depending on which dining plan your resort is eligible for, you may have to pay to upgrade from Quick Service Dining to Disney Dining Plan, which is also going to cost you more money. Say you are staying at a Disney Value Resort…..more than likely, Disney will offer their Quick Service dining plan with the Free Dining promotion which can be a good value unless you want to enjoy sit down dining or character dining. to upgrade to a dining plan that offers sit down meals, this would cost you an additional $423.44 to upgrade from the Quick Service Meal Plan to the Disney Dining Plan.
You now have Disney’s free dining promotion added to your package and it cost you and additional $742.96!
