Four things you need to know about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World
Live out your own Star Wars Adventure in a Galaxy Far, Far, Away! Disney has officially released the opening dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort in Southern California and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is opening ahead of schedule on May 31, 2019 at Disneyland Resort in Southern California and August 29, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios® in Florida.
Here are four things you need to know about the opening for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge:
Disney FASTPASS service, including access via Disney MaxPass, (at Disneyland Park) and Disney FastPass+ service (at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) will not initially be offered at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
At Disneyland Resort, if you plan on visiting Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23, 2019, along with valid theme park admission, you will be required to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land. If you’re staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels during these dates, you will receive a designated reservation to access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during your stay (one reservation per registered guest). Reservations to enter Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World are not required at this time.
At Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World, Galaxy’s Edge will be opening in two (2) phases. In anticipation of tremendous demand, Disney made the decision to open the land in two phases allowing guests to sooner enjoy the one-of-a-kind experiences that make Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so spectacular. On opening day for phase one, you will be able to enjoy the new attraction Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, sample amazing galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and more. Later in 2019 phase two will open, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. In this attraction you will be in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality.
At Walt Disney World, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be open during Extra Magic Hours. During Extra Magic Hours if you are staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels you can spend extra time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios enjoying select attractions.
When you book your qualifying vacation package through White Glove Destinations, we can assist in arranging your hotel, theme park passes and even the required reservation to enjoy Galaxy’s Edge. It’s all part of our complimentary White Glove Services!
